About
Pocket Pixels started because we were tired of reviews that clearly nobody had played past the tutorial. We're a small editorial team that installs the game, ignores the marketing copy, and just plays. Then we write down what stuck with us and what drove us up the wall.
We cover a wide spread of genres on purpose. RPGs, strategy, racing, arcade, adventure, the occasional cozy simulator. Mobile isn't one thing, and neither are the people who game on it, so we try to keep the catalog honest and varied.
Games get picked when something about them catches our eye, whether that's clever controls, a surprising art style, or a mechanic we haven't seen done well before. Nobody pays to be featured. If a game bores us, we say so.
We also care about the boring stuff nobody else writes about: how hot your phone gets, whether the settings menu is actually useful, and if the game respects your battery. That's the part we obsess over.
